Course booking – Big Wall 2
NOTE: this description is from the old 4-day Big Wall course, we still have yet to split out the skills into days 2-4.
This 4-day advanced course expands on your existing trad-climbing and multi-pitching skills, tackling walls that take days to complete. Your guide will be accredited IFMGA mountain guide Hamid Shafaghi. We’ll cover these topics:
- Climbing and belaying with twin and half-ropes
- Re-belays
- Small and large pendulums – how to follow a pendulum
- Aid climbing
- Hauling on the wall and pulley system
- Bivvy on the wall and portaledge
- How to draw the topo of a route (theory)
Prerequisites: trad climbing and multi-pitching skills.
NOTE: this is an ALL-WEATHER course. You don’t have the choice when rain comes in on a big wall, so we can run this one in rain, hail or shine!
