This price does not include transport to the area and fee for the Alpine road, food or drinks, equipment rental, though we could help you to organise the rental if you let us know in advance.

For a backcountry ski daily trip, you’ll need specific equipment to ensure your safety and enjoyment in the unmarked and remote terrain. Here’s a comprehensive list of essential equipment for a backcountry ski tour: 

  • Ski Touring Skis: Lightweight skis designed for both ascending and descending. They are typically wider and more versatile than regular downhill skis. 
  • Ski Touring Bindings: Bindings that can be released at the heel for uphill climbs and locked for downhill skiing. There are various types, including tech bindings and frame bindings. 
  • Climbing Skins: Adhesive strips applied to the base of the skis to provide traction when ascending slopes. 
  • Ski Touring Boots: Boots with a flexible mode for uphill movement and a rigid mode for downhill performance. They are compatible with ski touring bindings. 
  • Adjustable Ski Poles: Poles with adjustable lengths to aid in efficient poling during ascents and stability during descents. 
  • Avalanche Safety Gear:
    • Avalanche Beacon (Transceiver): Used to locate and be located by others in case of an avalanche.
    • Avalanche Probe: A collapsible pole used to probe the snow for buried victims during rescue. 
    • Avalanche Shovel: A sturdy shovel for digging and excavating snow during rescue operations. 
  • Backpack: A ski-specific backpack to carry essential gear, extra clothing, food, and water. 
  • Helmet: A ski helmet designed for all-mountain use, providing head protection during descents. 
  • Ski Goggles: Goggles with lenses suitable for varying light conditions, offering eye protection. 
  • Sunglasses: For sun protection during breaks and less intense light conditions. 
  • Clothing: 
    • Base Layers: Moisture-wicking and insulating layers to regulate body temperature. 
    • Mid Layers: Insulating layers like fleece or down jackets to provide warmth. 
    • Outer Shell: A waterproof and windproof jacket and pants to protect against the elements. 
  • Gloves or Mittens: Waterproof and insulated gloves or mittens to keep your hands warm and dry. 
  • Warm Hat or Beanie: To cover your head and ears in cold conditions. 
  • Headlamp: In case the trip takes longer than expected or you need to ski in low-light conditions. 
  • Food and Water: Pack sufficient snacks and water to stay energized and hydrated throughout the tour.
